Prime PRO400
The Royal Eijkelkamp Prime PRO400 is a rugged, flexible telemetry modem designed for long term unattended environmental monitoring, using Diver water level loggers and other water quality instruments.
The Prime PRO400 is designed for applications where a single telemetry unit needs to collect and transmit data from more than one monitoring device.
For groundwater monitoring, the Prime PRO400 can connect to a Diver water level logger while also supporting other compatible instruments through its additional multi-sensor port. It is suitable for monitoring water level, temperature, electrical conductivity and other connected sensor parameters.
For broader environmental monitoring, the Prime PRO400 supports SDI-12 devices, including up to 99 sensors on an SDI-12 bus. It can also support analogue inputs, pulse counting and selected serial communications, subject to configuration.
The Prime PRO400 is suitable for:
• Long term unattended monitoring
• Groundwater level monitoring
• Groundwater quality monitoring
• Surface water monitoring
• Mine water monitoring
• Dam and reservoir monitoring
• Stormwater monitoring
• Remediation monitoring
• Landfill monitoring
• Rainfall monitoring
• Meteorological monitoring
• Remote environmental monitoring networks
• Projects requiring multiple sensors at one location

Rugged Monitoring Well Installation
The Prime PRO400 is designed for installation in monitoring wells and other protected environmental monitoring locations.
Key physical specifications include:
• Approximate dimensions: 48 mm diameter x 480 mm long
• Aluminium enclosure
• Synthetic POM top cap
• Approximate weight: 900 g with alkaline batteries
• Operating temperature: -20°C to +55°C
• Storage temperature: -40°C to +85°C
• Relative humidity: 5% to 95%, non-condensing
• IP68 protection rating
The unit is resistant to temporary immersion when correctly connected, but it is not designed for continuous submersion.
Multi-Sensor Connectivity
The Prime PRO400 combines multi-sensor connectivity with remote data access.
It includes a dedicated Diver connection and an additional multi-sensor port for compatible instruments.
Available connections and interfaces include:
• 1 x Diver logger connection
• 1 x RS232 connection
• 1 x RS485 connection, as an alternative to the Diver connection
• 1 x SDI-12 bus, supporting up to 99 SDI-12 devices
• 0 to 10 V analogue input
• 4 to 20 mA analogue input
• Digital input
• Pulse counter input, suitable for applications such as rainfall monitoring
• Modbus compatibility in selected OEM configurations
• Adjustable 5 V or 12 V sensor power supply
Please consult with Aqualab regarding compatibility, sensor power requirements and the most suitable configuration for your monitoring project.
Designed for Diver Water Level Loggers
The Prime PRO400 is purpose built for use with Diver water level loggers.
When a compatible Diver is connected, the modem can recognise the logger and automatically configure the connection. This plug-and-play functionality assists with efficient commissioning and reduces manual configuration requirements in the field.
Compatible applications include:
• Water level monitoring with TD-Diver loggers
• Water level, temperature and conductivity monitoring with CTD-Diver loggers
• Remote groundwater monitoring networks
• Monitoring wells requiring scheduled telemetry reporting

Water Quality Monitoring
Extend your monitoring network beyond water level and incorporate water quality information with the AQUA 50 multiparameter sonde.
Designed for spot checking, unattended logging, remote telemetry and a wide range of groundwater and surface water applications, the AQUA 50 provides a flexible platform for measuring multiple water quality parameters.
The standard AQUA 50 sensor suite includes:
• Temperature
• Dissolved oxygen
• Conductivity
• Salinity
• pH
• ORP
• Depth
With suitable telemetry and system integration, water quality data can be accessed remotely, helping teams identify changing conditions and respond sooner.

ROAK Data Platform
The Prime PRO400 integrates with the Royal Eijkelkamp ROAK data platform.
ROAK provides a central platform to view, manage, analyse and report on environmental monitoring data. It can support remote data access, dashboards, user management, reporting and data integration.
Key benefits include:
• Remote access to monitoring data
• Secure online data management
• Data visualisation and reporting
• Configurable alarms and notifications
• Dashboard and trend review
• API data transfer capability
• Support for third-party sensor data
• MQTT connectivity

Standard Package
The Prime PRO400 package is configured to suit the monitoring application.
Typical configuration-dependent items may include:
• Prime PRO400 modem
• Diver connection cable
• Multi-sensor connection cable
• Cellular antenna
• Internal battery pack
• External power cable, where required
• Monitoring well mounting components
• Product documentation
• ROAK connectivity and data-service options
Cellular Communication and Alarms
The Prime PRO400 supports cellular communication through 4G LTE Cat-M1 and NB-IoT networks, with 2G fallback where available.
The modem can be configured for up to eight programmable events per day, including scheduled data transmission, SMS transmission or TCP/IP communication.
Communication and alarm features include:
• 4G LTE Cat-M1 communication
• NB-IoT communication
• 2G fallback, where supported by the network
• SMS and email alarm notifications
• Configurable alarm conditions
• Internal real-time clock
• Built-in temperature sensor
• Micro-SIM card socket
• External antenna connection
Barometric Pressure Compensation
The Prime PRO400 includes an integrated barometric pressure sensor to support barometric compensation for water level measurements.
This is particularly useful for groundwater monitoring applications where changes in atmospheric pressure can affect absolute pressure readings.
Power and Internal Logging
The Prime PRO400 includes internal solid state memory for automatic data logging. It can operate from internal batteries or, where required, an external power supply.
Battery options include:
• Three 3.6V D size primary lithium batteries, with up to 10 years autonomy at 24-hour reporting
• Three 1.5 V D size alkaline batteries, with up to 3 years autonomy at 24 hour reporting
Actual battery life depends on the number and type of connected sensors, reporting frequency, alarm activity, cellular coverage and external sensor power demand.
External power options include:
• External supply from 7 to 26 VDC
• External power connector
• Solar power kit option
• Larger external battery options
Internal logging features include:
• 128 MB solid state flash memory
