The system combines reliable water level monitoring, optional weather and visual observations, autonomous solar power, and two way cellular communications to deliver timely alerts and actionable data during flood events. Datalogger and Telemetry

At the heart of the station is a Sutron XLink datalogger providing:

• Multi-sensor input support (SDI-12, RS-485, RS-232, and analog)
• Two way 4G LTE cellular communications
• Local and remote configuration using LinkComm software
• Onboard data storage and system redundancy

Water Level Measurement Instruments (Sutron / OTT)

The system supports multiple water level sensing technologies depending on site conditions:

• OTT PLS 500 Vented Pressure Transducer
  Suitable for accurate water level and temperature measurement in rivers, channels, and culverts.

• OTT RLS Radar Level Sensor
  A non-contact solution ideal for locations with debris, sediment, or difficult access where submerged sensors may be unsuitable.

Weather Monitoring (Lufft)

Compact weather sensors from Lufft integrate seamlessly with the station to provide local meteorological context:

• Lufft WS Series Compact Weather Sensors
  All in one sensors measuring combinations of:

  • Precipitation
  • Air temperature
  • Relative humidity
  • Barometric pressure
  • Wind parameters (model dependent)

These sensors reduce installation complexity while delivering reliable weather observations at flood prone sites.

Power System

Each station is powered by a solar panel and rechargeable battery, providing full system autonomy. Battery backup ensures continued operation during extended low light conditions or temporary solar charging failure.

Scalable & Future Ready

The modular design allows additional instruments to be added over time as monitoring requirements change. Weather sensors, rainfall gauges, radar level sensors, and cameras can be integrated without redesigning the core station, protecting long term investment.
