Hydrolab Conductivity
The Hydrolab Conductivity (EC) Sensor is a high precision sensor designed for reliable measurement of electrical conductivity in professional water quality monitoring applications. Accurate conductivity measurement is essential for understanding total dissolved solids, salinity, and overall water chemistry, making the Hydrolab Conductivity sensor a critical component of any multiparameter monitoring system.
Factory integrated into the Hydrolab HL4 and Hydrolab HL7 water quality meters, the Hydrolab Conductivity sensor delivers stable, repeatable results in rivers, lakes, groundwater, estuaries, and industrial water environments. Its robust construction and proven sensor technology ensure dependable performance in both short-term field surveys and long-term unattended deployments.
SENSOR COMPATIBILITY
The Hydrolab Conductivity (EC) Sensor is factory integrated into the following Hydrolab water quality meters:
Factory integration ensures optimal sensor alignment, seamless system communication, and accurate temperature compensated conductivity measurements in the field.

WHY MEASURE CONDUCTIVITY?
Conductivity is a key indicator of dissolved ionic content in water and is widely used to assess salinity, total dissolved solids (TDS), and changes in water chemistry. The Hydrolab Conductivity sensor enables users to detect pollution events, track freshwater and saltwater mixing, and monitor industrial or environmental impacts with confidence.
By combining accurate conductivity measurement with real-time temperature compensation, the Hydrolab Conductivity sensor ensures consistent and repeatable results across changing environmental conditions.
IMPORTANT
Note: The Hydrolab Conductivity (EC) Sensor is supplied as a factory-integrated accessory and cannot be purchased as a standalone product.

The Hydrolab HL4 and HL7 water quality meters are manufactured by Hydrolab and proudly represented by Aqualab Scientific.
- FEATURES
-
Features:
- Design based on four graphite electrodes in an open cell design The probe measures the current between 2 electrodes held at a fixed potential; additional electrodes are used to compensate for any fouling of the electrode surfaces Sensor measurements used to derive Salinity, Total Dissolved Solids, and Resistivity
Benefits:
- Reduces measurement error due to environment – sediment falls to the bottom of the cell, and bubbles rise to the top. Measurements are reliable in any condition. Easily maintained between deployments by cleaning with a Q-tip or cotton swab
