Hydrolab Turbidity Sensor

Hydrolab Turbidity

The Hydrolab Turbidity Sensor is a high performance optical sensor designed to provide accurate turbidity measurements for professional water quality monitoring applications. Turbidity is a key indicator of water clarity and suspended solids, making the Hydrolab Turbidity sensor essential for assessing sediment levels, erosion impacts, and overall water quality.

Factory integrated into the Hydrolab HL4 and Hydrolab HL7 multiparameter water quality meters, the Hydrolab Turbidity sensor delivers reliable, repeatable measurements in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, estuaries, and industrial water environments. Its robust design ensures dependable performance in both short-term field surveys and long-term unattended monitoring deployments.

SENSOR COMPATIBILITY

The Hydrolab Turbidity Sensor is factory integrated into the following Hydrolab water quality meters:

• Hydrolab HL4
• Hydrolab HL7

Factory integration ensures seamless communication with the sonde and accurate turbidity measurement alongside other water quality parameters.

WHY MEASURE TURBIDITY?

Turbidity is a critical indicator of suspended particles and water clarity. Elevated turbidity levels can reduce light penetration, affect aquatic ecosystems, and indicate erosion, runoff, or pollution events. Accurate turbidity measurement is essential for environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and water treatment applications.

The Hydrolab Turbidity Sensor provides real-time turbidity data that allows users to detect changes in water quality quickly and respond effectively. When used alongside other Hydrolab sensors, turbidity measurements help build a complete picture of water quality conditions.

IMPORTANT

Note: The Hydrolab Turbidity Sensor is supplied as a factory-integrated accessory and cannot be purchased as a standalone product.

Hydrolab Depth

The Hydrolab HL4 and HL7 water quality meters are manufactured by Hydrolab and proudly represented by Aqualab Scientific.

FEATURES
  • User-programmable, self-cleaning system can perform up to 10 cleaning cycles before each reading, and the sensor’s fixed parking position ensures consistent data collection after each cycle.
  • Superior corrosion resistance in saline environments with a plastic sensor housing and titanium wiper shaft, rated to depths of 200m.
  • 0-3000 NTU range allows turbidity tracking with exceptional linearity, even during rain storms or other events that cause abnormally high readings.
  • Utilizes a small aperture technique to reduce false readings from particulates and other debris.
  • Designed to be compliant with the ISO 7027 Turbidity Measurement Standard.
