Hydrolab Chloride
The Hydrolab Chloride Sensor is a precision ion-selective electrode (ISE) designed for accurate chloride (Cl⁻) measurement in professional water quality monitoring applications. Chloride is a key indicator of salinity, contamination, and industrial influence, making this ISE sensor an essential tool for environmental monitoring, groundwater assessment, and process water control.
Factory integrated into the Hydrolab HL4 and Hydrolab HL7 multiparameter water quality meters, the Hydrolab Chloride sensor provides reliable, real-time chloride measurements in rivers, lakes, groundwater, wastewater, and industrial water systems. Its robust design and proven sensing technology ensure dependable performance in both routine field surveys and long-term unattended monitoring deployments.
SENSOR COMPATIBILITY
The Hydrolab Chloride Sensor is factory integrated into the following Hydrolab water quality meters:
Factory integration ensures seamless system communication, correct sensor configuration, and reliable chloride data alongside other critical water quality parameters.

WHY MEASURE CHLORIDE?
Chloride is widely used as an indicator of salinity, contamination, and human impact on water systems. Elevated chloride levels may result from seawater intrusion, road de-icing salts, industrial discharges, or wastewater inputs. Monitoring chloride concentrations helps identify pollution sources, assess environmental impacts, and protect freshwater resources.
The Hydrolab Chloride sensor provides timely, reliable chloride data that supports informed decision-making in environmental monitoring, groundwater management, and industrial water quality programs. When combined with other Hydrolab sensors, chloride measurements contribute to a comprehensive understanding of water chemistry and system health.
IMPORTANT
Note: The Hydrolab Chloride Sensor is supplied as a factory-integrated accessory and cannot be purchased as a standalone product.

The Hydrolab HL4 and HL7 water quality meters are manufactured by Hydrolab and proudly represented by Aqualab Scientific.
- FEATURES
-
Benefits:
- Applications of chloride ion measurement include monitoring landfills for leaks, tracing the movement of point-or non-point source pollutants (for instance, storm water runoff) within a natural water body, monitoring estuarine waters for changes in salinity, and detection of salt water intrusion into drinking water supplies (ground or surface waters). Chloride does not react with or adsorb to most components of rocks and soils, and so is easily transported through water columns. Therefore, it is an effective tracer or surrogate for pollution from chemicals moving from anthropogenic sources into natural water bodies.
