Hydrolab Chlorophyll a

Hydrolab Chlorophyll a

The Hydrolab Chlorophyll a Sensor is a high precision optical sensor designed to measure chlorophyll-a concentrations in professional water quality monitoring applications. Chlorophyll-a is a key indicator of algal biomass and biological productivity, making the Hydrolab Chlorophyll sensor essential for assessing nutrient enrichment, algal growth, and overall ecosystem health in aquatic environments.

Factory integrated into the Hydrolab HL4 and Hydrolab HL7 multiparameter water quality meters, the Hydrolab Chlorophyll-a sensor delivers reliable, repeatable measurements in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, estuaries, and coastal waters. Its robust optical design ensures dependable performance in both short-term field surveys and long-term unattended monitoring deployments.

SENSOR COMPATIBILITY

The Hydrolab Chlorophyll a Sensor is factory integrated into the following Hydrolab water quality meters:

• Hydrolab HL4
• Hydrolab HL7

Factory integration ensures seamless communication with the sonde and accurate chlorophyll-a measurement alongside other water quality parameters.

WHY MEASURE CHLOROPHYLL-A?

Chlorophyll a is widely used as a proxy for algal biomass and primary productivity in aquatic systems. Elevated chlorophyll-a concentrations can indicate nutrient enrichment, eutrophication, or harmful algal bloom (HAB) development. Monitoring chlorophyll-a allows early detection of water quality changes and supports proactive management of aquatic ecosystems.

The Hydrolab Chlorophyll sensor provides real-time chlorophyll-a data that helps users track biological activity, assess trophic status, and evaluate the effectiveness of water management strategies in both natural and managed water bodies.

IMPORTANT

Note: The Hydrolab Chlorophyll a Sensor is supplied as a factory-integrated accessory and cannot be purchased as a standalone product.
