CyanoFluor

Predict the onset of harmful algal blooms with Cyanofluor!

Early identification of harmful algal blooms (HABs) is important for protecting public health. CyanoFluor™ is a field-portable fluorometer which can quickly estimate the abundance of cyanobacteria in a mixed algal population using PC (phycocyanin) to CHL (chlorophyll) ratios. Monitoring PC to CHL ratios over time enables users to predict the onset of HABs and leverage resources to mitigate their harmful effects.

Raw water samples can be quickly analyzed with results displayed in less than 30 seconds. Simply insert a cuvette with your sample and press READ. PC:CHL ratios are displayed and logged and can be downloaded at a later time.

CyanoFluor is factory-calibrated meaning no calibration is required; RFU values can be correlated to µg/L using conversion coefficients. Solid-state opto-electronics ensure long term instrument stability. CyanoFluor’s intuitive functions, small size, and internal data storage make it an ideal field instrument for HAB monitoring.

Deployed in the “open” position, the Kemmerer Water Sampler is simply lowered to the required depth using a rope (30m rope included) before a weighted messenger is deployed.  The weighted messenger travels down the rope, triggers the Kemmerer Water Sampler and a sample is captured.

With a capacity of 1.2 litres, the Kemmerer Water Sampler is perfect for a variety of discreet sampling applications including heavy metals analysis (no metal components touch the sample), microbiological sampling, and stratification sampling.

FluoroSense

FluoroSense is a small, lightweight, highly durable handheld fluorometer.

Extremely portable & lightweight, FluoroSense is ideal for HAB identification in the field.  Factory-calibrated for a linear range of 0-199 µg/L, the only maintenance required is simply rinsing after use. Available in two optical configurations, chlorophyll and phycocyanin (PC), FluoroSense can assist with identification of PC-containing algae typically associated with Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs). Obtaining both PC and chlorophyll estimates helps in determining whether additional testing is required to check toxicity levels in a body of water.

FluoroSense is the only portable, handheld field fluorometer on the market
with an LCD displaying the measurements while the optics are submerged.
Other similar meters either require an external display or require sample
collection which requires training, is more time consuming, risks sample
contamination, and creates excess waste (sampling bottles/containers).
FluoroSense is a single-device solution with no need for peripheral
instrumentation (probes) or additional calculations.

Each FluoroSense kit includes:

1 x FluoroSense
1 x User Manual & Quick Start Guide on USB Flash Drive
1 x Laminated Quick Start Guide
