WET

A robust and reliable leaf wetness sensor is essential for a wide range of agronomical disease models.

The leaf wetness sensor works on the principle of electric conductivity, measuring in ten increments if the sensor surface is anything from completely dry to completely wet.

The 30 x 40 mm sensor element is mounted on a holder, which allows more flexibility in the installation.

This rugged sensor, developed by Adcon, features a teflon-coated ceramic carrier. To ensure reliable operation it is usually sufficient to periodically wipe off chemical residue, which covers the sensors surface after every treatment.

The sensor comes complete with all mast mounting equipment, two pipe clamps, cable ties and a shielded 4m cable with a 7-pin Binder jack, compatible to all RTU’s of the A723, A733 and A75x families.

RG1

The Adcon RG1 was designed as a universal rain gauge, that meets the need of most applications. This gauge is built to last, in agriculture as well as in hydrographical or meteorological applications and in rough environments.

This version of the RG1 weighs in at less than half a kilo and is suited for both mast and floor mounting. The measurement is done by a double tipping bucket system that’s factory calibrated to remain within a <2% accuracy in rain falls up to 60mm per hour. The steep angle of the buckets makes water run of quickly and thus prevents the build-up of residue, like sand or dust in the buckets.

Water is collected through a funnel with an orifice of 200 cm². Leaves and bird droppings are kept out of it by means of an aluminium filter, that can easily be taken out for cleaning. The funnel attaches to the body with a bayonet-style lock, which prevents the funnel from being shaken off in heavy winds.

All parts (except the buckets) are made of aluminium that’s anodized for extra protection and durability.

The sensor comes complete with all mast mounting equipment, two pipe clamps, and a shielded 1m cable with a 7-pin Binder jack, compatible to all RTU’s of the A723, A733 and A75x families.

Rain Gauge WMO

This German-made Rain Gauge is a superb product for all kinds of applications: from hydrology to meteorology, from agriculture to industrial monitoring – this device is fit for nearly everything. For the construction of this Rain gauge only the best materials were used: Anodized aluminium for the body. Solid, cast aluminium for the base. Stainless steel, precision machined, for the tipping bucket.

Pluvio 2S

The OTT Pluvio 2S is a next generation development of the tried-and-tested OTT Pluvio 2, with state of the art compact design that captures up to 400 mm of precipitation on a collecting area of 200 cm².

The OTT Pluvio 2S is an all-weather precipitation gauge that uses superior weight-based technology to measure the amount and intensity of rain, snow and hail.

Parameters measured include:

• Cumulative precipitation
• Precipitation intensity
• Bucket content (real time)
• Bucket content (non-real time)Pluvio 2S

The OTT Pluvio 2S employs a high precision load cell and algorithms that compensate for wind, temperature and evaporation, ensuring the highest accuracy precipitation measurements over time.

Precipitation Wind Shield (PWS)

To improve instrument performance in windy conditions, OTT has released a Precipitation Wind Shield (PWS).  The PWS improves aerodynamics in the area immediately surrounding the Pluvio 2S intake and minimises the turbulence impact on the precipitation to be measured.  Mounting the wind shield on the vibrationless concrete platform detached from the mast of the precipitation gauge itself, provides additional protection from wind induced measurement errors.

OTT Precipitation Wind Shield

Why choose the OTT Pluvio 2S?

• Compact and relatively light precipitation gauge, with a weather resistant collecting bucket for 400 mm of precipitation (200 cm² collecting area).

• Minimum space requirement – no problem to install on existing 50 cm x 50 cm concrete bases • any suitable vibration-free 2-inch pedestals can be used again.

• The intensity and cumulative data output fulfils the WMO directive No. 308.

• Highly-developed data capture and processing with signal analysis, filtration and noise reduction as well as algorithms that compensate for the influences of temperature and wind.

• Considerable measuring accuracy of ±1 mm, wide measuring range, and a high data accessibility of 99%.

• Output of high precipitation intensities of up to 3,000 mm/h without any time delay.

• Precise capture of the finest precipitation from as little as 0.03 mm of precipitation in an hour.

• Optionally available with adjustable ring heater – prevents the formation of ice or snow caps and keeps the orifice rim free • also deployable in solar operation in reduced voltage mode.

• Various output interfaces (SDI-12, RS-485, pulse/contact), configurable through USB by means of tablet PC or notebook.

• Low overall operation costs – lifelong calibrated ice-free, drift-free and virtually maintenance-free measuring device.

Parsivel 2

The OTT Parsivel 2 is a modern laser disdrometer for comprehensive measurement of various precipitation types including:

• Precipitation type
• Precipitation intensity
• Drop size distribution
• Radar reflectivity

Parsivel captures both the size and speed of falling particles, then classifies them into one of 32 separate size and velocity classes.  Raw data is used to calculate the type, amount, intensity and kinetic energy of the precipitation, the visibility in the precipitation, and the equivalent radar reflectivity.

Parsivel 2: Common Applications

Parsivel is typically used in the following applications:

Monitoring Road Conditions
Precipitation amount and composition are combined with general visibility measurements to provide an accurate picture of road conditions.

Early Flood Warning
When combined with water level sensors, Parsivel is the central component in an early flood warning system.

Erosion Modeling
Kinetic precipitation energy calculated by the Parsivel, paired with other parameters like ground state or relief, provides a key input for erosion models.

Communication Interfaces

The following communications interfaces are available:

NetDL Communication Interfaces

Local communication may be established using a PC / Laptop or tablet, connected via the inbuilt RS232 or USB interfaces.

Web Interface

Thanks to the built-in web server, operators may access logged data from anywhere in the world using a standard web browser.  No specialised software is required.  Access can be made via PC, tablet or smartphone.

A static IP address or dynamic DNS is used to establish a connection to the logger.  Once a connection is made, data can be viewed or downloaded, and basic adjustments to the logger can be made.

NetDL Ethernet

Standardized ports and a variety of supported transmission protocols (HTTPS, HTTP, SMTP, FTP) and data formats (including XML) allow simple integration into existing and future systems, thus ensuring Net DL is a great long-term investment.

C-sense

C-sense is a compact, lightweight, plug-n-play sensor designed for measurement of the partial pressure of CO2 gas in liquids. Combining an oil resistant hydrophobic membrane and a temperature compensated non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) detector, C-sense measures the
partial pressure of CO2 in water, oil, and water and oil mixtures.

C-sense operates through the diffusion of gas across a hydrophobic membrane into an isolated headspace. While any resident gas may enter the headspace, the wavelength of the infrared sensor is specific to CO2  absorption. The amount of absorption of that wavelength is proportional to the concentration of CO2 gas in the headspace.

Specifically designed for applications involving immersion in water, oil, or water and oil mixtures, C-sense sensors incorporate an oil-resistant interface with a compact, temperature-compensated non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) detector.

C-sense are available in four standard measurement ranges:

  • 1,000ppm
  • 2,000ppm
  • 4,000ppm
  • 10,000ppm
  • other ranges available (discuss with Aqualab!)

Designed for integration, C-sense enables pCO2 monitoring at a significantly lower price than traditional pCO2 sensors.

Each C-sense ships with:

  • 1 x C-sense sensor
  • 1 x User Replaceable Membrane
  • 1 x Copper Antifouling Guard (installed)
  • 1 x Locking Sleeve Connector.
