Vento1

This professional instrument was particularly developed to provide a very cost effective, yet WMO compliant wind sensor.

This highly professional pair of sensors is manufactured for Adcon by one of Germany’s best known sensor manufacturers. The housings of both sensors are made of robust, seawater resistant aluminium, to withstand even the harshest of conditions.

Wind Speed Sensor

The Wind Speed Sensor has a very low starting threshold of less than 0.4m/s, thanks to its low-friction bearings and its generously dimensioned aluminum cups. The rotating 3-cup unit can be replaced in the field. The sensor will measure speeds of up to 200 km/h.

Wind Direction Sensor

The Wind Vane employs an accurate hall sensor. The vane is also made of aluminum and, like the wind cups, is easily field replaceble.

Both sensors require very little maintenance and will remain within their specifications for many years.

To properly mount the sensors according to WMO requirements the set comprises of an 80cm wide mast mounting arm, complete with mounting brackets. Each cable comes with its own Binder cable plus a separate Y-cable. This allows individual replacement of sensors in case of maintenance or repair, but still occupies only one connector on your Adcon RTU.

Both sensors are also available as individual units. If ordered separately they will be delivered with individual mounting arms and a 2m Binder cable.

TR2

Combi Sensor “Professional”

The Adcon TR2 is an improved version of the successful TR1. All parameters are designed to match even the most demanding specifications of professional users. Data processing is done right inside the sensor, and all values are ouput via SDI-12.

The temperature sensor offers an accuracy of 0.05°C. Including all potential sources of errors, repeatability, hysteresis, linearity, etc., its accuracy is still better than 0.1°C. The temperature measurement range was extended to +80°C

The humidity sensor, too, is an improved version of the TR1 sensor. It is now almost fully encapsulated to provide maximum protection against particles. The measurement window is specially coated to reduced all possible negative effects of dust, moisture and (agro-)chemicals. The sensor covers the full range up to 100%, with a typical accuracy of 1% up to 90% and 2% from 90 to 100%.

TR2 also calculates dew point directly inside the sensor, and outputs even the mixing ratio.

A highly professional 7-element radiation shield protects the sensor from direct sunlight and provides sufficient ventilation. Solid UV resistant elements reflect radiation on their white surface, while black coating on the inside absorbs accumulating heat.

This sensor is virtually maintenance free and maintains its accuracy over a long period of time. A threaded cap with a wire mesh shield protects the sensor elements against dust, bugs and other pollutants. For applications requiring special protection, e.g. against aggressive dust particles like ammonia in chicken sheds we also offer optional steel sinter, PTFE sinter and PTFE membrane filter caps.

Please note that we have selected the wire filter cap for its combination of two desirable effects: quick reaction to changing humidity and temperature while still providing sufficient protection against small particles. This said please note that smaller pore size will provide better protection, but also slow down the sensor, as smaller pores also reduce the exchange of moisture molecules.

The delivery pack contains the sensor, a 7-element radiation shield, mast mounting gear for poles with a diameter of ~40mm and a 3m cable with a 7-pin Binder connector for Adcon RTUs.

TR1

Combi Sensor “Standard”

The Adcon TR1 was developed in order to offer a highly accurate sensor with excellent long-term stability for a very competitive price. A professional radiation shield protects the sensor from direct sunlight and provides sufficient ventilation. Solid UV resistant elements reflect radiation on their white surface, while the black inside absorbs accumulating heat.

The sensor is virtually maintenance free and provides excellent long-term stability. A protective coating keeps dust and dirt off the surface of the humidity sensor element to reduce sensor drift, eliminate corrosion and to maintain accuracy over a long period of time. A plastic cap with a metal screen shields both sensing elements against insects, chemicals and all kinds of dirt.

The sensor is delivered completely assembled with its 5-element radiation shield, mast mounting gear for poles with a diameter of ~40mm and a 3m cable with 7-pin Binder connectors for Adcon RTUs.

SR20

SR20 is a pyranometer of the highest category in the ISO 9060 classification system: secondary standard. This solar radiation sensor is used where the highest measurement accuracy is required. It measures the solar radiation received by a plane surface from a 180o field of view angle.

In order to improve overall measurement accuracy, this sensor tackles very effectively two major sources of measurement uncertainty: calibration and “zero offset a”. The initial calibration uncertainty is reduced to less than 1.2 %, an improvement of 15 % relative to competing models. The “zero offset a” specification of SR20 is 5 W/m2 unventilated, while competing models state 12 W/m2 unventilated and 7 W/m2 ventilated.

The temperature dependence of every individual instrument is tested and supplied as a second degree polynomial. This information can be used for further reduction of temperature dependence during post-processing. SR20’s low temperature dependence makes it an ideal candidate for use under very cold and very hot conditions. If a permanent power source is available, the integrated heater can be activated to further reduce measurement errors caused by early-morning dew deposition.

SR20 pyranometer uses a state of the art thermopile sensor with black coated surface, two domes and an anodised aluminium body.

Adcon delivers the SR20 by default with an integrated amplifier. This device provides the standard Adcon analog output signal from 0 to 2.5V, which makes the sensor compatible to all Adcon RTU’s.

The sensor comes complete with an extremely rugged, stainless steel mast mounting bracket, and a shielded 3m cable with a 7-pin Binder jack, compatible to all RTU’s of the A723, A733 and A75x series.

SR11

The SR11 pyranometer offers an outstanding price-performance ratio for an instrument of this class. Compliant with the ISO-9060 First Class standard, it employs a double glass dome to minimize measurement errors. Its thermopile sensor element reacts very fast to changes in radiation, and provides a perfectly flat response across the full solar spectrum. The SR11 is the instrument of choice for Met Offices, science and research, and also for photo-voltaic operations keen to get accurate efficiency evaluations of their operations.

Adcon delivers the SR11 by default with an integrated amplifier.

SP Lite

SP-Lite – a low-cost, yet very accurate, universal silicium pyranometer.

Kipp & Zonen SP-Lite

This silicium-pyranometer was especially designed for agro-meteorology, in particular to calculate evapotranspiration for precision irrigation purposes, to monitor solar panels in energy production, for air pollution dispersion calculations and similar applications. SP-Lite can be used under all weather conditions. It compares favourably to ISO 9060-specified First Class Thermopile Pyranometers under clear and unobstructed natural daylight conditions.

SP-Lite uses an extremely accurate and sensitive photo diode detector, which creates a voltage output that is proportional to the incoming radiation. This diode is far superior to low-cost diodes as used in cheap pyranometers, which often start to drift enormously after only one year in the field. SP-Lite has a proven track record of maintaining its original accuracy over many years.

In contrast to low cost sensors SP-Lite is equipped with a dome-shaped, hardened crystal glass lense. The dome-shape of the lense makes sure that water and agro-chemicals can run off easily, rather than drying up on the surface and leaving behind an obstructive layer of dust, dirt and chemicals. The hardened crystal lense makes sure that sand and dust in the air will not scratch the surface and reflect sunlight back into the atmosphere.

In order to provide easy compatibility to all Adcon RTUs the sensor comes with an integrated amplifier, which creates a linear 0 – 2.5V output signal.

The sensor comes complete with all mast mounting equipment, two pipe clamps, and a shielded 2m cable with a 7-pin Binder jack, compatible to all RTU’s of the A723, A733 and A75x families.

LP02

The LP02 is a pyranometer according to the ISO-9060 Second Class standard. It measures the solar radiation flux incident on a plane surface from a 180 degree field of view in the wavelength range from 305 to 2800nm with a thermopile element with a flat response across the full solar spectrum. This makes the LP02 perfect for meteorological routine measurements, such as those in agro-meteorology.

The sensor is very robustly built, with a sturdy aluminum body and a precision engineered glass dome.

The sensor comes with an integrated amplifier, providing Adcon’s standard 0 … 2,5V output signal, an extremely rugged mast mounting bracket made of stainless steel, and a shielded 3m cable with a 7-pin Binder jack, compatible to all RTU’s of the A723, A733 and A75x series.

CMP3

Kipp & Zonen CMP-3

CMP-3 is a pyranometer according to ISO-9060 Second Class standard. It is measuring the irradiance on a plane surface from radiant fluxes in the wavelength range from 310 to 2800nm by means of a thermopile element. This makes the CMP-3 ideal for meteorological routine measurements which require neither a First Class nor a Secondary Standard instrument.

The output signal of the thermopile sensor is converted by the integrated Adcon amplifier to a 0-2.5V signal, compatible to all Adcon RTU’s.

The sensor comes complete with all mast mounting equipment, two pipe clamps, and a shielded 2m cable with a 7-pin Binder jack, compatible to all RTU’s of the A723 and A733 families.

Ultraturb sc Sensor

When connected to a Hach SC200 or Hach SC1000 controller/display, the Hach Ultraturb sc measures process turbidity within the range of 0.0001NTU – 1,000NTU.

Utilising a pulsed, long-life IR radiation LED, the Ultraturb sc is a low powered turbidimeter, manufactured in accordance with DIN EN ISO 7027 and permanently calibrated before leaving the factory.  Ultraturb sc units are ready for immediate use after connection to the Hach display/controller, and upon receiving a supply of sample water.

All optical and electronic assemblies are installed in housings that are physically very strong and proof against water jets.
