AS950 All Weather Sampler (AWRS)

Sampling has never been this easy!

The Hach AS950 AWRS is a robust, weather resistant field sampler with an integrated refrigerator, for applications where temperature control is required for sample preservation.   The custom designed air sensing thermostat controls temperature in accordance with USEPA and international guidelines, preserving samples regardless of outside temperatures and conditions.

Complete with a large, full-colour display, the Hach AS950 Portable Sampler can be programmed without the need for a field laptop.  It offers USB upload & download capabilities, and the ability to copy programs between samplers.

For stormwater sampling, the Hach AS950 portable sampler provides the ability to initiate up to two different programs based on user-defined conditions, such as rainfall or pH thresholds.

For industrial sampling, the Hach AS950 portable sampler is available with a non-contact liquid detect to prevent cross contamination of samples.

The Hach AS950 can be further programmed to collect varying sample sizes, collect samples at user-specified time intervals (i.e., time-weighted) or flow volume increments (i.e., flow-weighted), or collect samples over an entire run-off event as determined by a rain or flow sensor.  Sample tubing can be replaced quickly without tools.

Various models are available.

Soil Oxygen Content Analysis System

The Eijkelkamp Soil Oxygen Content Analysis System (#14.35) consists of a short soil ‘piercing probe’ attached to an oxygen content meter.  The ‘piercing probe’ is pushed into the soil manually. The oxygen content meter is connected to the probe and, using a bellows, soil gas is drawn into the meter and the O2 content is measured.

The oxygen content meter operates with an electrochemical cell.  This cell has a limited service life (about 1.5 years), but can be calibrated easily with air (21%) and with a gas free of oxygen (natural gas, nitrogen).

Soil gas analysis can yield a lot of information concerning the growing conditions for localised shrubs and trees.  Understanding soil gas is also the first step to measuring soil pollution – without the expense of core drilling.

Turbidity Plus

Turbidity Plus is an accurate single-channel turbidity sensor with an
integrated, user-controlled wiper motor.

Turbidity Plus is designed for integration with multiparameter systems and dataloggers from which it receives power and wiper motor triggers at user defined intervals.

Turbidity Plus is available in 2 linear ranges up to 500 or 3,000 NTU with minimum detection limits of 0.05 or 0.5 NTU respectively. It delivers a voltage response proportional to the turbidity of the sample which can be correlated to nephelometric turbidity unit (NTU) concentrations by calibrating the sensor using AMCO Clear Turbidity Standards.

Deployable to 200 meters, Turbidity Plus is available in a variety of configurations to facilitate integration.

Hydro-Wiper

The Hydro-Wiper is an innovative mechanical wiper system customised to fit a wide variety of optical instruments.

Ideal for extended deployments where external power supplies are not available. The wiper unit is connected to a rugged underwater housing that contains the batteries, control electronics, diagnostic LED, wipe angle controls, and wipe interval select switch.

Powered by six user-replaceable alkaline batteries, the Hydro-Wiper will operate for over 6 months with a 1 hour wiper interval.  For extended deployments, a larger battery housing is available.

The wipe interval can be set from 15 minutes to 12 hours, to suit the environment.

Why purchase a Hydro-Wiper:

Cost effective: The Hydro-Wiper reduces the need for costly site visits to manually clean the instrument, maintaining data integrity throughout long deployments.

Proven in the field: Developed in 2007, Hydro-Wipers have been deployed in some of the harshest environments by educational institutions, research organisations, government agencies and private companies in all parts of the world.

Standard modelsFrom flourometers to turbidity sensors, dissolved oxygen instruments to nitrate analyzers, PAR sensors and more, we can wipe them!

Custom designWe can provide custom clamps, brushes and cable lengths, power and triggering options, and depth ratings. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

EC Probe for Soil Salinity Measurements

Highly irrigated environments are increasingly becoming salinated.

The Eijkelkamp EC Probe for Soil Salinity Measurements (#14.01) is the perfect instrument for monitoring the progress (or decline) or soil salinity.  By tracking salinity changes over time, users can obtain a greater understanding of salinity impacts on localised environmental health.

Traditionally, understanding soil salinity required sending soil samples to a laboratory for analysis. However, this method is costly and labour intensive.

The Eijkelkamp EC Probe for Soil Salinity Measurements (#14.01) enables users to determine the salinity of soil electrically.

The EC probe, in combination with an earth resistivity meter, measures the resistivity of soil.  The reading is subsequently converted into electrical conductivity, with readings dependent on the structure & texture of the soil, the moisture content and the salinity of the ground water.

The Eijkelkamp EC Probe for Soil Salinity Measurements (#14.01) includes:

• 1 x EC Probe
• 1 x Resistivity Meter
• 1 x Gouge Auger
• 1 x Spatula
• 1 x Carry Bag

miniWIPER

The miniWIPER is a self-contained, completely submersible, anti-fouling device designed for use with the following PME sensors:

miniDOT
miniDOT Clear
miniPAR
Cyclops 7

The maximum depth rating for the miniWIPER is 25m.

How the miniWIPER works

The miniWIPER incorporates a small brush that rotates over the sensor surface before resting in a home position.  Wiping intervals can be programmed from one time only, hourly or daily.

The miniWIPER is powered from two AA Lithium batteries.miniWIPER

miniWIPER Specifications

The miniWIPER is constructed from a delrin; a very hard plastic that does not easily crack or break, making it a perfect anti-fouling companion for long term, unattended water quality sensors.

The product is proudly manufactured by PME and exclusively represented by Aqualab Scientific within Australia.

Tensiometer

The Eijkelkamp Tensiometer (#14.04) measures the force with which water is held within the soil by the soil particles. This force, referred to as soil suction, soil water tension, or potential, indicates how tightly the water is bound in the soil, and how much energy must be exerted by plant roots to remove and use the water.

The basic components of a tensiometer include a porous ceramic cup, a plastic body tube, and a vacuum gauge.

The ceramic cup is placed in good hydraulic contact with the soil and allows transfer of water in & out of the tensiometer body according to the tension in the soil.  The vacuum inside the tensiometer body equilibrates with the soil water tension, and the dial gauge provides a direct readout of the tension.

The Eijkelkamp Tensiometer is a complete set for multiple measurements to a depth of 90 cm.
